It’s important to do a remodeling project for your own enjoyment of your home, first and foremost. You may want to choose a project that will also add value to your home for resale, too. Recently, the National Association of Realtors released their 2017 report on Remodeling Impact…a study of which remodeling projects offered the best resale value. Here are some of the results:
The top interior projects that added value to the home were complete kitchen renovations, kitchen upgrades, and bathroom renovations. Adding a new bathroom, a new master suite, and HVAC replacement were runners-up.
The top exterior projects related directly to curb appeal: New roofing, new vinyl windows, and new garage door. Coming in close were new vinyl siding, new wood windows, and a new steel front door.
Most homeowners reported feeling really good about the projects they completed, and felt it had not only increased their enjoyment of their homes, but increased its value, too.
